Tomatoes!

Last Wednesday, with freezing temperatures in the forecast and our weekend trip planned, Tool Lady and I decided it would probably be best to pull everything out of our 4X6 raised bed.  What exactly did "everything" include?

Well, 12 tomato plants, 2 lemon cucumber vines, 2 basil plants, a bell pepper plant, 2 jalapeno plants and a bunch of strangled carrots.  Yeah...way too many plants in one little bed.  I've definitely learned my lesson!

While some of the veggies were tallied in this weeks Harvest Monday, there are a ton of tomatoes that still need to ripen.  For now, these tomatoes are living in our garage on a card table and a tray.

This table is 35 inch X 35 inch square.  That's a lot of tomatoes!!!

As they ripen, I will add them to my weekly Harvest totals.  I wonder how long it will take all of them to ripen?  Or if they will all ripen?  Time will tell, but I have this fantasy about having fresh, homegrown tomatoes on our salad at Thanksgiving!

This is what the bed looked like once we were all done!  Now we just have to clean it up and prep it for some more fall veggies and its wagon top!  Maybe this will be done next weekend while we work on the rest of our To-Do list!
