Garden & Coop Tour, Giveaways & Link Tag

Happy weekend, everyone!!!  

This weekend is the weekend!  You know, the one where hundreds of people will walk through our property as part of the Homegrown NM Kitchen Garden & Coop Tour?  Yeah...that weekend!

So, today we will spend several hours previewing everyone else's properties on the tour and tomorrow we will host everyone who purchased a ticket to check out what we do, how and why.  WooHoo!  

(BTW-I'm trying really hard not to be super nervous about this whole thing, but I'm really not sure that it's even possible...wish us luck!)

In the next few days, I'll post about what we learned/were inspired by on other peoples properties, as well as how the whole experience went for us here on our own little postage stamp!  

First though, in case you missed it, 

I'm holding two giveaways right now!

1. I'm giving away one of the crocheted mason jar cozies from my etsy shop as part of Greenopedia's launch and as a nod to the small steps we can take to affect positive change in our "green" lives!

In the meantime, here are a few items that have caught my eye recently...

Food & Kitchen

• Arsenic in chicken, on purpose.  This isn't new news, but it's updated news and it is terrifying. WTH?!
• Food Huggers...apparently (according to their many, many backers) this is a great idea!  Who knew?
• Tender Green beans w/ Cherry Tomatoes & Basil.  I cannot wait to harvest each ingredient from the garden and make this deliciousness!
• Grandma's Cooking - A Lost Art?

Education & Environment

• Evolution Isn't Keeping Up with Climate Change.  Not that I'm surprised, but this is an important aspect of the change we are affecting and experiencing on this planet of ours.

Farm & Garden

• Is it about giving up on chickens or is it about those noisy roosters?  

Preservation & Preparation

• We watched World War Z last weekend and I am determined to build a better Bug Out Bag.  Here are some of the ideas I've been pinning.  More on this topic later.
