A New Addition

With the exception of my rough patch a few weeks ago (which has nothing to do with the news in this post), the last few months around here have been a whirlwind of celebrating, planning and activity, that I haven't yet shared with you all in this space, but it is time. Words truly cannot describe how incredibly happy I am to finally share with all of you that we are expecting a baby!!!

Kim (Tool Lady) is carrying our little Sprout (yes, the little one will be referred to as Sprout in this space, until he or she picks their own name) and is officially due on October 9th, though we are well aware that babies come when they are ready.  At 16 weeks pregnant today, she is past the point of stomach issues (mostly) and is simply eating us out of house and home as our Sprout grows ;-)

Our journey to this time in our lives has been a long time coming, full of many twists and turns, ups and downs, and has happily brought us right here, right now.  The truth is, getting to this moment, this pregnancy, took us a full two years and 21 tries.  Pregnancy doesn't come easy for everyone and our experience has given us a new appreciation for the process and all that it takes to get through it. Sprout is a blessing on so many levels and we believe firmly that everything happens just as it should, despite our best efforts or preconceived notions of what should happen when.

Fish Girl, who is 18 now and very excited to finally be a big sister, will have a very different relationship with her little sister or brother than most siblings do, and I trust also, that their relationship will be perfect for them.

Though we don't yet know Sprout's sex, we will find out in a few weeks and, of course, share the news here.  In addition, there will be lots of research, and therefore posting, to do around eco-baby ideas, challenges and projects.  Stay tuned as we continue to grow, literally and figuratively!

For now, though...right now...we are simply full of joy, love and anticipation.
