Garlic Sprouts!

Look what starting peeking...

WooHoo!!!  We're growing three brand new (to us) varieties of garlic this year, so I'm very curious to see how they do.

I guess the peeking means that spring really is just around the corner!  Which is a really, really good thing, because (as I've said before) I am itching to get my hands and some seeds in the soil!

Throughout the week ahead the weather is supposed to be pretty nice...highs in the 50s and 60s, lows in the low 30s/high 20s...just warm enough to trick all the trees into officially budding out.  I guess we'll just have to wait and see what spring really brings!

In the meantime, I'm starting seeds indoors and will direct sow a few kale, spinach and chard seeds this week in a few beds, just to see what they do over the coming months.  If I'm feeling frisky, I might even throw some root veggie seeds out there, too (carrots, beets, radishes and turnips)!  Whoa ;-)

Oh man, I'm not sure I've ever been more excited about spring planting than I am this year...

xoxo,
M

    1. Garlic always feels quite mysterious to me...not sure why. Maybe that's why I love to grow it?
