Virtual ---> Reality

I know I mentioned my yarn stash and my love of crochet a little while back, but did I mention that I have never branched out much in my creativity regarding crochet?  Yeah...I've pretty much just stayed with the two basic stitches my mom taught me forever ago...they're easy, they're safe, they're what I've always done.

So, a few weeks ago I began pinning crochet patterns and ideas and have become so incredibly inspired to step outside of my box and try them out!

The first item I began making were wrist warmers!  Though the measurements on this site don't quite add up in my mind they are easily adjustable depending on who they're being made for.  Wrist warmers are so simple and quick to make, I can't believe I've never made them before now!  These will absolutely be making an appearance in my Etsy shop, so keep your eyes peeled!

Into my first set of wrist warmers I also added in a new-to-me stitch!  The spike stitch is, again, super simple and something I can't believe I've never tried before now!  It's kind of hard to see in the picture below, but if you follow the link, it'll show you the stitch tutorial in two distinct colors.

I found this next idea on Pinterest as well and lo and behold, not long after I pinned it was I invited to my very first ugly sweater party!  So, I took the idea and ran with it!  Instead of hunting down an ugly Christmas sweater, I instead covered an old dress with many, many bows and showed up to the party tacky and obnoxious in a whole new way!  It was absolutely hilarious and a lot of fun!

Virtual ---> Reality is a challenge to simply to take some of the inspiration I am finding in Internet Land, practice it in real life, then post about it here, completing the circle and accomplishing a few thing in the process.
Please join along by sharing what you have found online recently that has inspired you enough to create in real life?  Feel free to share your stories and links in the comments below!
