Garden Happiness(es)

We have never before had so much green happening in our yard at this time of year!  I think part of the reason is our exceptionally warm winter and spring and part of it is all the seed starting we did this spring under our grow lights.  It is very exciting to me to see so much promise in our front and back yards during the second week of May!  Amazing!  Here's a peek at some of what's happening on our little plot...

Our 4X6 raised bed in transition.

going to seed and newly planted peas and sweet corn.

newly transplanted tomatoes (2 Yellow Taxi, 1 Bi-Color
Cherry and 1 Roma)

This is my first real attempt at growing eggplant
and I'm trying them in containers.

Tomato blossoms...I think these are a small sweet cherry tomato...
but I mislabeled it as a bell pepper when I up-potted it at one point,
so right now it's just a Mystery Tomato ;-)  Silly me!

    I think you'll enjoy having eggplants. I think the plants are beautiful.

    I love the purple pear. What variety is it?

    And lemon balm... mmm. Yummy tea.

      I'm really excited about the eggplants! I hope they do wonderfully :-)

      The pears on that branch are Red Bartlett. I really hope we actually get a real fruit harvest from our trees this year!

      And lemon balm...YES! This is our first year growing this, too! I can't wait for tea :-)

      Jenni, I sure hope so! If I can keep it all mulched and watered enough I think it will be a wonderful harvest year :-)
