As you can see from the above picture, I have not perfected this process yet...My rolls were not long enough to begin with and then I braided it too tight. When it was done rising it had stuck to itself a bit. So, at this point I recommend making your rolls longer and not braiding them so tight ;-) If there are any gaps while braiding it, they will close up once it rises.
Our journey to producing more and consuming less on 1/8 acre in the middle of the city. Urban farming, through keeping backyard chickens and a top bar hive of honey bees, practicing organic vegetable gardening, taking care of several fruit trees, maintaining a compost pile, canning and preserving our harvests and trying our best to do it all ourselves using reclaimed materials where possible.

You're welcome! I love pretty bread :-)
DeleteOh, I am SO showing this to 2nd Man. He's always playing around with 'decorating' breads in some manner, this is awesome. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI forgot to add, that 6th picture down reminds me of a chicken or maybe a turkey, ha.
DeleteHa! I, too, love pretty breads! Just the act of baking bread feels great, but making it look nice is especially rewarding :-)
DeleteAnd, yes, now that you mention it, that pic does kind of look like poultry waiting for the oven! LOL!
