1) Tap each end of your celery with a sharp knife. This will create a tiny cut on both "ridges"
2) Using both hands, break your celery using the small cuts you just created. You will find that the celery breaks, but the pesky strings hold on for dear life.
3) Using the end that is now hanging on, pull down, parallel to your stalk of celery.
4) Follow steps and 2 and 3 for the other end of your celery.
You will be left with all your ends and lots of stings to compost, freeze to make stock later, or just throw it in the stock pot. You will also be left with string-less celery to enjoy however you like! Stuff it with some grated cheese, make Ants on a Log...whatever you do, enjoy!
